The HANDS BOOK ONLINE Is Here: A Decade of Music, Photography, and Stories

Dec 1, 2024

After over ten years in the making, I am thrilled to announce the release of THE HANDS BOOK ONLINE! This digital book is more than just a collection of photographs—it’s a journey into the heart of music, an intimate portrait of over 250 legendary musicians, and a celebration of creativity and artistry.

For anyone who has ever felt the thrill of a live concert, marveled at the precision of a musician’s touch, or been captivated by the stories behind the music, this book is for you.

What Is THE HANDS BOOK ONLINE?

Imagine a project that combines the magic of music with the timeless elegance of black-and-white photography. THE HANDS BOOK ONLINE does just that. Over 1,000 photos capture the hands of iconic musicians as they create, perform, and inspire. Each image tells its own story, offering a glimpse into the artistry and craft behind the music we love.

But it’s not just about the photos. The book features:

  • Exclusive Stories: Personal anecdotes and insights about each musician.
  • Making-Of Photos: Behind-the-scenes shots that bring the project to life.
  • Dynamic Updates: New content added as more musicians join the project.

A Decade in the Making

This project began as a simple idea: to capture the essence of musicians through their most expressive tools—their hands. Over the years, it grew into something far greater. From backstage moments to live performances, I’ve been fortunate to photograph some of the most influential artists across jazz, rock, and blues.

From the legendary John Scofield to the iconic Leland Sklar, the book includes a diverse range of musicians whose work has shaped the history of music. Every image is a testament to their talent, passion, and individuality.

Why Hands?

Hands tell a story that words cannot. They are instruments of creation, channels for emotion, and symbols of dedication. Whether it’s the delicate touch of a pianist, the dynamic energy of a drummer, or the intricate technique of a guitarist, hands reveal the true essence of a musician.

This project celebrates not only the music but also the craft, skill, and passion that go into creating it.
